Michael D. Sennett, MD

Dr. Michael Dean Sennett, MD  joined Amarillo Pathology Group in 2006 as a staff pathologist.

Dr. Sennett received his undergraduate degree in economics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1987.    Dr. Sennett received his Medical Degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia in 1993. He completed a transitional clinical internship at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1994 prior to his decision to pursue training in Pathology.  His first two years of training were spent at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the final two years in the Baptist Health System, both in Birmingham, Alabama.  He completed his core Pathology Residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in 1998.  Dr. Sennett returned for additional training in Hematopathology from 2005 to 2006 by completing a fellowship at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico under the guidance of Dr Kathy Foucar, MD.

Dr. Sennett holds active medical licenses in Georgia, Alabama, and Texas.  He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as be board certified in Hematopathology.  Dr. Sennett is also a member of the College of American Pathology and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Sennett’s work experience includes South Eastern Pathology (1998-2003) in Rome, Georgia and Lee Pathology Laboratory (2004-2005) in Opelika, Alabama.  He has held staff privileges at numerous medical centers in Alabama, Georgia, New Mexico and Texas.  His work has focused on general anatomical and clinical pathology with a sub-interest in hematopathology.
